Description

INEA ceased operations on 31 March 2021.

The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) was established on 1 April 2021 to take over its legacy portfolio as well as additional EU funding programmes.

Executive Agencies

Executive agencies are set up for a limited period of time by the European Commission to manage specific tasks related to EU programmes.

Innovation & Networks Executive Agency (INEA)

The Executive Agency for Innovation and Networks manages EU infrastructure and research programmes in the fields of transport, energy and telecommunications.

Responsibilities

The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency manages the following EU programmes:

Connecting Europe Facility (CEF)
Horizon Europe
Innovation Fund
LIFE programme
EU Renewable Energy Financing Mechanism
Just Transition Mechanism
European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund

This Agency manages programmes in support of policies on:

Plans and reports

Commission work programme – overview of institution-wide deliverables for current year

Annual activity report – department achievements, resources used during previous year

Annual work programme – budget line for certain policies and funding programmes for current year
